Former UN Secretary General Boutros Boutros-Ghali died at the age of 93

In Cairo, the former UN Secretary General, Boutros Boutros-Ghali died at the age of 93. As the Egyptian media reported he died in the hospital, where he was treated for a pelvic fracture.

 Boutros Boutros-Ghali was elected the UN Secretary General in 1992. He is the first and the only Arab in this position.

The UN Security Council observed a minute of silence in memory of former Secretary at yesterday"s session.
