Consideration on the merits of "Rustavi 2" and "TV Sakartvelo" cases has been completed. The Constitutional Court listened to the positions of the plaintiff and defendant parties after which the clarification questions around the process were asked. The Broadcasting Company demands to declare unconstitutional immediate execution of the ruling and the appointment of the temporary management.

Today, the judges were interested to see how these legal norms restrict the freedom of the media.Based on these norms a few months ago Tamaz Urtmelidze appointed temporary management in Rustavi-2. At this point the law has been suspended, but the final decision is upon the Constitutional Court . On February 24, the Board will hear the final conclusions .

First Chamber of the Constitutional Court has been listening to the sides" positions for 8 hours today . Rustavi 2"s lawyer has been for a long time trying to convince the judges that his own position is correct. The lawyer believes that the process does not comply with the Constitution.
