Contradictory statements were made after Abashidze-Karasin meeting. In contrast to the Georgian Prime Minister"s Special Representative Zurab Abashidze, the Russian deputy foreign minister said that all the topics on which he spoke to reporters before the meeting were discussed during the meeting. According to him, the meeting focused on the fact that some of the most influential politicians make the anti-Russian statements, damaging the environment on which they have been workng for three years. Karasin said that he did not want to name them, but he said, members of the Georgian Government referred to the Russian Federation as a threat to the civilized world . Russian Deputy Foreign Minister said that Georgian politicians often allow themselves to say things during election campaign which under the usual circumstances they would not say. Karasin said that sometimes they are "have no brakes."
