In a letter sent to Rustavi 2 Broadcasting Company two months ago the Court of Appeal of indicated that hearing would take place in 5 months, but the panel has started working in a very accelerated pace.
The Court of Appeal is in no hurry regarding the decision on the seizure of Rustavi 2 property. The Broadcasting company`s lawyers believe that board is deliberately delaying the decision on the seizure of property.
The panel of the Court of Appeal is made up of three judges. One of them , Natia Gujabidze is a one of the founders together with judge Tamaz Urtmelidze of the NGO "Union of Judges" . This organization is one of the active supporters of the judicial reform initiated by Tea Tsulukiani. The High Council of Justice appointed in an expedited manner Gujabidze as a judge in the Court of Appeal during Murusidze`s presidency in January 2016. Murusidze refused to rate her work today.
Appeals Court Panel is headed by Natalia Nazghaidze . Natalia Nazghaidze has worked as a judge since 2003 and in 2013 after the expiry of the term was re-appointed to this position.
Shorena Kavelshvili started working in the judiciary system from the prosecutor"s office. In 2005-2008 years she was the Isani-Samgori district prosecutor.Later she was a Dedoplis tskaro and Signaki District Court judge, and in 2013 she became a City Court Judge.
Rustavi 2"s lawyers do not exclude that if the hearing will continue at this pace, the Court of Appeal"s decision could be issued in two weeks.
