Rally in Svaneti- population protests against ban on timber cutting and selling

Repremanding rally is underway in Svaneti, the local population gathered at the Jvari-Mestia road section . People are protesting against the government"s decision, which bans timber cutting and selling .

Locals claim that the decision promoted monopoly of the business in the region, while small entrepreneurs were left without income.

They are asking the government to respond, otherwise they threaten to block the road.
