The Prime Minister of Georgia has commented on Rustavi 2 case. Today Giorgi Kvirikashvili visited Illinois University, where he delivered a speech and spoke about the ongoing reforms in Georgia. The next meeting was held in Boston. Kvirikashvili spoke to reporters before the meeting. The Prime Minister reiterated the importance of maintaining editorial policy of Rustavi 2 .

"Freedom of the media is very important for me, as you know, this case has two dimensions. This is a private property dispute dimension and it is a dimension of freedom of speech and editorial independence I certainly have no right to interfere in the trial, but I would like to say no matter whether we like this TV or not, I would not want Rustavi 2 to change its editorial policy in any way. Especially before the elections, not to give to our opponents any opportunity to speculate. We need to lt an independent media company"s to conduct the editorial policy that it believes it should have, "- Giorgi Kvirikashvili said.
