The US is closely watching developments in regard to Rustavi2.  John McCain, a Chairman of the Senate Committee on Armed Service, commented on the issue and claimed that there are questions in regard of freedom of media and Georgia should ensure   free and fair elections .

"There are questions about media freedom. I really hope that the Government will promote freedom, because it is very important, "- said John McCain.

Kenneth Roth, a head of Human Rights Watch says, that media freedom is essential for free elections.

"Therefore, Human Rights Watch considers the freedom of the media, as an integral part of the electoral process," - said Kenneth Roth.
