From 2016, the tax-free minimum program will be abolished since a more refined social assistance system will be introduced and implemented in the country,” this statement was released by Deputy Finance Minister, Giorgi Kakauridze, in reference to their move to abolish a tax-free minimum system in 2015.
“The core objective of this initiation is to utilize our funds more effectively. The tax-free minimum program enabled some Georgians with a low income to have this sum returned; however, from January 1, 2015, we plan to implement a new methodology that will employ subjective and not objective criteria to give the status of socially disadvantaged to some of our citizens,” stated the Deputy Finance Minister.
