Constitutional Court left for making decision on NGOs appeal

A 12-hour hearing of the NGOs appeal in the Constituational Court has ended. The judges have left for taking decision.

Civil sector objects to several articles in the Constitutional Court  Law. Among them is the norm, according to which in case of the consideration of the Organic Law the quorum of judges is increased .

Also, a judge is able to transfer the case for a ruling to the plenum. For example, as an example the Rusatavi 2 case can be named , when at the request of judge Merab Turava the case was handed over for a ruling to the plenum. NGOs consider this unconstitutional.

"Once again we state that the proposed changes which we have appealed in the Constitutional Court, prevent the effective administration of justice and are a violation of the right to a fair trial," - said a constitutional law specialist Vakhushti Menabde.
