Case of Rustavi 2- Constitutional Court judge and Director General of Rustavi2 respond on accusations

A Constitutional Court did not continue an organizational session today. Reportedly every judge will have possibility to examine the documents individually. After that a session of  the plenum will be held and the judges will represent their visions. They will  prepare a report, which must be approved by a majority of the Plenum.

Merab Turava was the judge who underlined  the legality of the registration of claims of  the Rustavi2"s case and so called Cable Case.

It is unknown when Merab Turava decided that the claims are dubious, because he as a member of the first panel has personally participated in the discussion where they have decided to intake the case of Rustavi2.

Another issue being discussed in the last days is linked to family ties between Nika Gvaramia and one of the Constitutional Court"s judges- Maia Kopaleishvili. Members  of Georgian Dream claim that she is Nika Gvaramia"s godmother and this should be a reason for recusal.

Maia Kopaleishvili states that it is not a reason for her recusal.
