Vladimir Hinchegashvili is Olympic champion

Georgian wrestler Vladimer Khinchegasvili (57kg) has won Olympic gold in freestyle wrestling at Rio Olympiad.

In the final, Khinchegashvili beat Japan’s Rei Higuchi. In the semifinal he defeated Bulgaria’s Vladimir Dubov 8-4. Before that, he defeated Kazakh Nurislam Sanayev and Azerbaijan’s Haji Aliyev in quarterfinals.

Georgian athletes have now two gold medals.
