Search for missing soldiers suspended, Izoria speaks about lack of certified diving Instructors

Two Special Forces soldiers were declared missing by the Ministry of Defense and the search operation was stopped. The Minister has informed the parents, but family members request to continue the search and have started hunger strike on the Gonio beach.

Another scandalous statement Levan Izoria made later. It turned out that instructors, who were responsible for the training of divers, did not have the proper qualifications. Izoria said that the Defence Ministry has not had diving instruction specialists in the last 6-7 years . The Minister ordered to suspend all similar exercises.

The head of the General Staff responded to Izoria`s statement. He corrected the statement and explained that the Special Forces took training program, however, there may have been some flaws in it.

The former defense minister Tina Khidasheli , said that what the acting minister said discredited the soldiers.
The prosecutor`s office is studying the case.

Soldiers were lost in the Black Sea 15 days ago.
