Minister of Culture Mikhail Giorgadze talks about the legality of Sakdrisi decision and expresses the readiness to discuss this issue at any time.

 The Minister explained that the information   given to the part of society, including the Church was not complete. According to him, the report stated that the object is unstable, there are problems and is inclined to decomposition.

The National Museum issued the statement  on the Sakdrissi_Kachagiani gold mine.The statement says that "lately, the  activities and competence of  the National Museum are frequently  misinterpreted, thus damaging  the scientific reputation of the Museum and misleading  the public. So, I want to reaffirm the museum"s position that  by all international standards in terms of research carried out  by our German colleagues and other partners Sakhdrisi is an archaeological monument of global importance.

"We believe that the present deplorable state of the archaeological site in 2013 led to the decision by the Ministry of Culture to deprive the Gold Mining of the status of monument ," -  is said in the statement.
