Nika Gvaramia responds to publicizing his telephone conversation with Paata Burchuladze. He made a statement a few minutes ago at the special briefing and explained that

"Unfortunately, the government has chosen for the last 3 years to be in constant confrontation with Rustavi 2 and personally with me," - said Gvaramia.

According to him, the government publicizes the tapes by means of government agencies.

"The record, which was released today really is scandalous, but not by its content, scandalous is the fact that the government confirmed that it is really listening to us, and not only the director of the TV, but also a political leader are beeing evesdropped.

"I confirm the conversation`s authenticity, I talk to Mikheil Saakashvili, to Paata Burchuladze , Tina Khidasheli or Shalva Natelashvili, it is my personal decision, nothing illegal,it has nothing to do with the media independence or party independence," - said Gvaramia.
