The prosecutor`s office has been investigating the case of a road accident in Batumi for almost a month , but the police officer involved in the incident still remains in his job. The family members of the woman who dies as a result of the accident demand the defendant`s punishment. According to reports, the police officer who was driving the car was speeding up and hit a 52-year-old womanon August 26. Vardo Beladze died on the spot.

The family reported that the car was driven by a law enforcement officer who disappeared from the scene. The investigation revealed his identity very soon , however, he had not been arrested.

Many people have witnessed the accident. According to them, after the collision, the manleft the car on the ground and left the area on foot.

The Interior Ministry has not responded to the question whether the suspect remains in his position.
