Today,it will be 23 years since the fall of Sukhumi. On September 16, 1993, the Abkhaz side has again violated the Sochi cease-fire agreement and began to storm to occupy Sukhumi.

The fight for Sukhumi lasted 11 days and ended on 27th by the City`s falling over.

On the same the Chairman of the Council of Ministers, Jiuli Shartava, the mayor of Sukhumi Guram Gabiskiria and 27 employees of the Council of Ministers were shot.

During military confrontation in Abkhazia 14 000 people were killed. 300 thousand refugees from Abkhazia were left homeless
