The movement of all types of vehicles was banned in Gudauri-Kobi section of the Mtskheta-Stepantsminda-Lars highway due to avalanche threat in the morning. 

However, in the evening the way was opened for cars. The ban to move remained in force for trailers and semi-trailers. Traffic Department officials said the ban was imposed due to avalanche threat, and in this section a few avalanche slid out in the early morning . Fortunately, no one was hurt. It is still unknown when the traffic will be restored. The traffic department officials say, it is quite possible that for security reasons, the restrictionswill be imposed on this section of the way and it will be closed again.
