By the decision of the Government the learning process for students of Batumi American -Georgian Technical University will not start. The building is closed and the auction for the sale is announced. It is already decided that a hotel will be opened in that building instead of the University.
The Protest against this decision of the government with the participation of students and UNM members was held at the University building today.
According to the Minister of Education, the building does not meet standards of educational institution.Sanikidze also argues that the project of the American-Georgian Technical University was not approved and financed by the Americans.
The director of construction firm , Irakli Shanava says that the construction went on for a year and 4 months and the building fully complies with the standards of the university.
