The third sector is still asking to set up the consultation council for selecting candidate for Supreme Court Chairman position. According to them, this group should promote open and transparent consultation process.
NGOs also call for the parliament to be treat with more responsibility the discussion of the candidates. In their estimation, the chairman of the Supreme Court should be free from the influence of political forces.
"Weare thinking about the creation of a consultative group and support this idea, since it is possible that this group,will select several people whose candidacies will be subsequently submitted to the President and he will be able to choose a candidate," - said the executive director of the Young Lawyers Association, Tamar Gvaramadze.
"Human Rights Education and Monitoring Center" leader, Sophie Verdzeuli thinks it is important that the process be politically neutral.
