The parliamentary majority prepares to overcome the president"s veto.An extraordinary meeting started in the parliament a few minutes ago. The legislative body will discuss the president"s remarks. They will be introduced by Ana Dolidze.
The President"s Parliamentary Secretary states that today is a historic day and in case of taking into account the motivated remarks, there is a chance for a one-party constitution to become a consensus document.
"Today we have a different, extraordinary, unprecedented historical event. For the first time in the history of Georgia, the President"s motivated remarks are presented in regard to the Constitutional Law of Georgia. This is not a dividing veto, this is a veto of consent," Ana Dolidze said.
The President requests to preserve the direct presidential elections, the country"s full transition to the proportional system for future elections and abolishing the bonus system.
