Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili congratulates citizens on adoption of the Constitution.

The government administration has released Kvirkashvili`s statement.

"I congratulate Georgian citizens with the new edition of the Constitution - the main law of the country. This is a big step forward on the path of democratic development of the country. This is a modern, Western-style, national interest-based document, which must become gauarantee of our country`s freedom, progress, stability and the European future. Each person who participated in working out this very important for the country document,s, those who supported democracy and the separation of powers of based on the Constitution, supported our country"` growth and sustainable development.

"I want to thank all parties participating in the constitutional process , each member of the Constitutional Commission , and ordinary citizens, who have throughout the year have been involved in the constitutional amendment process. Once again I would like to thank the Commission, which contributed greatly to the development of the new Constitution.

The Venice Commission assessed constitutional amendments as the country"s step towards improvement of the constitutional order based on the principles of democracy, the legal state, and fundamental rights, "- is said in the statement.
