"All documents and requests are sent" - Tea Tsulukiani speaks about extradition of Saakashvili

Tea Tsulukiani made an explanation regarding possible extradition of Mikheil Saakashvili from Ukraine. According to the Minister of Justice, all documents have been sent to the Ukrainian side and the decision on the third president of Georgia is to be taken by official Kiev.

"All documentation and requirements have been sent. In 2014-2015, these refusals came io our requests, and finally it was once again confirmed that our extradition request was still in force. There has been no news and dialogue in these recent days, and how the Ukrainian side defines the time and method of the extradition is up to the Ukrainian state and their law enforcement and court structures, "T- ea Tsulukiani said.

Giorgi Gogadze, deputy chief prosecutor told journalists on the possible extradition of former president of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili.

According to him, if the Prosecutor"s Office did not have any reasonable grounds, it would not have sent an extension request.

.We’ve appealed to the relevant competent authorities of Ukraine three times. If there were no relevant grounds, of course, we would not send the appeal. There was a motive of nationality, but it does not exist any longer. The Prosecutor"s Office of Georgia will do its best to bring all the persons who committed crime on the territory of Georgia to justice," said Gogadze.

According to Mikheil Saakashvili`s lawyer, extradition procedures require quite a long time and may last for several months. According to Davit Kakoishvili, if Ukraine does not violate the European Convention, it will not be able to extradite Third President of Georgia.
