The first session of the 6th convocation council was held in Poti on the background of noise. The opposition did not support the candidacy of former mayor Irakli Kakulia on the post of chairperson but most of the majority managed to elect him as a chairperson.

The opposition expresses no confidence in the elections.

"We had a substantiated reason of not participating in the ballot. Since these elections were not democratically carried out and all red lines were crossed. These were illegally held elections, "- Darejan Tsuvitaria, a member of Poti City Council from the National Movement said.
