NGO sector offers 4 candidates for the ombudsman`s vacant position. Specifically, these are Nino Lomjaria, Ana Natsvlishvili, Vakhushti Menabde and Zviad Koridze.
In addition to the people proposed by the NGO sector, the majority will discuss Sopho Khorguani and Sopo Japaridze`s candidacies tomorrow.
Former First Deputy General Auditor of the State Audit Office of Georgia, Nino Lomjaria states that each candidate is a principaled and worthy person.
"It will be very important if the consensus will be between the civil society and the ruling team and there will be consensus within the ruling party. It will also be important if the parliamentary and non-parliamentary opposition support this process, "said Nino Lomjaria.
Human rights defender Sophie Khorguani notes that she has not yet received any offer. However, the proposal does not mean that their concept and opinions will coincide with each other.
"The offer does not mean that you agree with the people who offer you to be
their watchdog," said Khorguani.
The majority will discuss the candidates to be nominated for the position of the Public Defender and the ruling team will summarize the final result of the consultations.
