The co-rapporteurs of the Council of Europe Parliamentary Assembly Monitoring Committee call on the Georgian side to create a stronger system of balancing and control in the country`s security services.
In a statement posted on the official web site of the organization it is said that the government should provide adequate parliamentary supervision and control against the background of information on increased involvement of security services in the country"s governance.
The co-rapporteurs of the Assembly expressed regret over thepostponement of transition to the proportional electoral system in Georgia and reaffirmed the firm support for Georgia"s territorial integrity.
