The President of Georgia addresses the US Congressmen. Giorgi Margvelashvili calls on Washington to adopt an act in Georgia"s support. The president has addressed the Congress with the initiative.
According to Giorgi Margvelashvili, Georgia has a strategic partnership with the United States and the next logical step to strengthening these special relationships is the adoption of a support act. During his speech, Giorgi Margvelashvili has focused on occupation of Georgia and Archil Tatunashvili.
Senator Amy Jean Klobuchar and diplomats participating in the conference discussed the challenges of Georgia"s national security today.
"You all know how the Russian armed forces helped the secessionist rebels against the Georgian government. This is still going on. When we were in South Ossetia, with Senators McCain and Graham, we have visited a farmer who had a barbed wire in the middle of the plot, which reminds us that this process continues to this day, "said Amy Klobuchar
The former British ambassador to Georgia also commented on the death of Archil Tatunashvili in the occupied Tskhinvali prison.
"The President mentioned the death of a Georgian citizen who was kidnapped and died in uncertain circumstances in South Ossetia. We, in the UK, are concerned over the brutal attack on the Russian spy and his daughter, which took place in a peaceful city. It should be clear that what happens in Georgia is like what happens to us right now. Georgia physically experiences these attacks: wires, death, kidnapping, war, for 25 years and still maintains the pro-western course. This is a lesson that Georgia should teach us, "says former British ambassador to Georgia Alexandra Hall Hall.
The President of Georgia will deliver a speech at the Hermitage Foundation in several hours.
