NGOs appeal law on surveillance in the Constitutional Court

NGOs will appeal the surveillance law in the Constitutional Court.

The lawsuit has already been prepared by the non-governmental organizations involved in the campaign "It concerns you "demanding the abolishment of the two-key system.

They consider unconstitutional the regulation, which leavs the controls on surveillance in the hanfs of the Interior Ministry, .

According to the head of "Transparency International Georgia",Eka Gigauri, this regulation giving the direct access to the Interior Ministry to listen to telephone conversations, violates the human rights.

The head of the Georgian Young Lawyers" Association, Ana Natsvlishvili said that the amendments, which were adopted last year are not constitutional. She added that the regulation did not comply with the privacy standards established by the Constitution.

Today"s press conference was also attended by the representatives of the President`s Administration, the National Movement and the Free Democrats.
