Bloody events of June 20 - Authority of ten riot officers is suspended

As a result of the June 20 developments, the authority of ten riot police officers has been suspended. Mamuka Chelidze, Acting Director of the Central Criminal Police Department, made this statement at the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

The General Inspection has begun to investigate the possible misconduct by law enforcers. In addition, according to the MIA signs of criminal offence were identified in the actions of two law enforcers.

"The General Inspection of the Ministry of Internal Affairs is conducting an investigation of possible violations by individual law enforcers during the dispersal of the protest rally.

At this stage, in the frameworks of the investigation authority of ten riot officers is suspended," the statement reads.
