The families of teenagers who went to Syria ask the local authorities for support

Two schoolchildren from Pankisi gorge who left for Syria are already there, their family members have confirmed.

According to them, 16 and 18-year-old boys are passing a training course on one of the ISIS bases.

“They have phoned us saying they feel fine and have not seen the war yet. According to them, they are passing training,” one adult’s grandmother Shairat Kushtanashvili has told InterPressNews.

According to the Pankisi gorge residents, Pankisian radical Muslims promote Georgian civilians to join the ISIS. A representative of Chechnya Diaspora Meka Khangoshvili says this is dangerous for the region.

Reportedly, about hundred people from the gorge have already joined the ISIS. Eleven of them have died during military operations.
