The next – 49th - round of the internationally mediated Geneva Discussions will start today.

During the discussions, the Georgian side will raise the issues of closure of the so-called checkpoints in direction of Tskhinvali region, the return of IDPs and the latest developments at Chorchana village of Khashuri Municipality.

During the meetings, special attention will be paid to the illegal and provocative processes in the occupied territories and along the occupation line.

Attention will also be paid to the illegal activities of the occupation forces in the vicinity of the village of Chorchana. On the erection of artificial barriers in the village of Gugutianthkari and cases of abduction and detention of Georgian citizens.

The Georgian side once again will emphasize the regular violations of the August 12, 2008 ceasefire agreement by Russia. The 49th round of Geneva will end tomorrow.
