Kintsvisi Monastery clergyman sent to pre-trial custody

The Gori District Court ordered pre-trial detention for the priest of the Kintsvisi Fathers’ Monastery.

Yesterday, the clergymen was charged with attempted murder and illegal possession of firearms.


According to the investigation, on April 20, 2020, in the evening, in the vicinity of the village of Rieti, Gori Municipality, K.K. fired several shots with illegally purchased weapon, in the direction of S.J., who was driving a car. S.J. managed to escape. Law enforcers arrested K.K. on April 27, 2020.


The priest faces prison term of 7 to 15 years if convicted.
