2019-2020 will not be declared as an academic year in Georgia. Such a statement made today the Prime Minister of the country during the presentation of the anti-crisis plan for education.
“The year of 2019-2020 will not be declared as an academic year in Georgia. During this period the academic year took place online and on TV.
We took steps very early regarding the educational system, which was necessary to reduce the number of infected people in schools, and from March 4, the processes stopped at schools. It was critically important to stop the infection not only in the field of education but also in society. The Ministry of Education was able to act very quickly and introduced distance learning.
The XII graders will finish the school year on May 20, the first graders on May 27. The rest of the students will study until June 15”, - concluded Giorgi Gakharia.
