Police seized illegal weapons and ammunition in Khashuri - one person detained

The officers of Khashuri Police Division under Shida Kartli Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs detained Ch.O. (DoB 1986), in Khashuri, on charges of illegal purchase, keeping and carrying of firearms and ammunition as a result of operative and investigative activities.

The committed crime envisages from 4 to 7 years of imprisonment.

The law enforcers stopped the accused while driving on the central highway of Khashuri-Surami bypass road. During the search activities held in vehicle, law enforcers seized automatic firearms, 745 ammunition magazines of various calibers and spare parts for automatic firearms s evidence.

The investigation is in progress on the fact of illegal purchase, keeping and carrying of firearms and ammunition, article 236, III and IV parts of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
