"We have to accept and recognize the results" - Frank-Walter Steinmeier on Greece

 

"Tsipras and his government are leading the Greek people on a path of bitter abandonment and hopelessness," -said Germany"s economy minister Sigmar Gabriel . He said negotiations with Athens now were "barely conceivable".
Greece"s "No" vote in its bailout referendum is "very regrettable" and the economy faces tough measures to recover, the head of the Eurogroup of eurozone finance ministers, Jeroen Dijsselbloem.
President of the European Council Donald Tusk said he called a Euro Summit for Tuesday evening to discuss the situation after the referendum.
Seperately, the European Commission said in a statement that it "takes note of and respects the result of the referendum in Greece."

After consulting with the heads of EU institutions, President of the EU Commission Jean-Claude Juncker also plans to address the European Parliament in Starbourg on Tuesday, the statement said.
The Greek referendum result has to be accepted, and the ball is now in Athens" court for the next steps, Germany"s foreign minister said Sunday.
"We have now to accept such a result, it is the result of a referendum which the Greek people took part. What conclusions can be made is first and foremost a decision for Greece, therefore the ball is now in Athens" court," Frank-Walter Steinmeier said in Vienna.
