As a result of operative-searching and investigative activities, representatives of Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia, revealed four facts of illegal entrepreneurial activity, for which 5 persons were brought to the criminal liability.

Investigation determined that the accused persons, in the pharmacies owned by them in different districts of Tbilisi and Rustavi, in violation of the license conditions, sold psychotropic drugs to individuals without a prescription, thus promoting the so called “pharmacy drug addiction”.

With abovementioned activities, the accused persons received a large amount of income, and psychotropic and specially controlled medicines worth total of approximately GEL 850 000 entered the civil circulation without any regulation or permission.

Investigation is being continued under the first and second parts of article 192 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisages imprisonment from 3 to 5 years.
