After many years of blockade Embassy of Cuba opened in Washington

 

 

"Historic day for the relations of the United States and Cuba," - with this words the Secretary of State John Kerry in Washington started the grand opening of the Cuban Embassy in Washington.

The occasion was hosted by the Cuban Foreign Minister.

After meeting, US Secretary of State said that at this stage the issue of Guantanamo Bay is not considered.

This is the area in which official Havana expects to return.

The Cuban flag was raised over Havana’s embassy in Washington on Monday for the first time in 54 years as the United States and Cuba formally restored relations, opening a new chapter of engagement between the former Cold War foes.The next step in the relations of the two countries, will be the opening of the US Embassy in Havana, which is scheduled for next month, during John Kerry`s visit.
