JSC "Telasi" Co. has addressed the Georgian National Energy and Water Supply Regulatory Commission with regard to a tariff review yesterday.

"The company has requested a tariff adjustment, naming the sharp change in the GEL exchange rate, increased electricity cost and electricity transmission tariff growth as a motive.

The Georgian National Energy Commission will review the company’s tariff application within three days. If the application turns out to be well-grounded, the commission will start public administrative proceedings and will publish public documents on its website,” - reads the Commission’s statement.

The government will provide assistance to the vulnerable population. The government will cover the difference, which is caused by changes in the tariff.

However, how many families are fixed in social welfare data base it is not known at this stage. Also are unknown the selection criteria.
