"The state will fully cover the difference in price for vulnerable families" - this is the promise that the Prime Minister gave at the special briefing at the State Chancellery. He also noted that " if Regulatory Commission had not increased electricity tariff increase, the companies would not be able to provide electricity supply in a continuous mode ".

According to him, despite the fact that electricity tariff in the regions have been increased and a similar decision was expected to be taken regarding Tbilisi, electricity tariff in Georgia is still one of the lowest in the region .

"I want to remind people that our government, when it was possible decrease the tariff by four tetri.So far, no government has taken a similar decision. This decision saved our population about 150 million - this is theamount that the population over-paid over the years. However, now the situation has changed , and not only in our country but also the region, which is why the tariff correction by 3.35 tetri has become inevitable," - said the Prime Minister.
