Tbilisi City Hall is dismantling a building built on Baratashvili Street without a permit. Such a statement made today the Mayor of capital.
“The certain building was being constructed on Baratashvili Street, near the historical fence. Another project was agreed upon and one floor was added, which of course contradicts our approaches to the urban development of the city. Specifically, the old Tbilisi is a very sensitive topic for us.
I immediately made a statement that the project could not and would not be implemented in this way. After that, we heard speculations from the representatives of certain opposition parties, which mainly spread lies, falsity. We will not let these people do it and provide the right information to the public. I was the first to reject the project in this format and publicly condemned it. We keep our promise. The upper floor is being dismantled at the moment. The dismantling works will take two weeks and the project will get a normal look, it will be implemented as agreed.
It is also noteworthy that the construction permit for this hotel was issued in 2009. This is our disposition and attitude towards Tbilisi. We do not prevent anyone from carrying out constructions and developing the city, however, we must do all this properly”, - said Kakha Kaladze.
