Due to the rehabilitation works, traffic on the Metekhi Bridge will be partially restricted. Such a statement made today the Mayor of Tbilisi.

“Today we start the rehabilitation works of the Metekhi bridge. The bridge needs full rehabilitation. Within the framework of the project, it is planned to reinforce the arches, treat the facades, pave a new asphalt-concrete cover on the carriageway, completely renovate the sidewalks and cover them with natural stone tiles. In addition, the cast-iron railings on the bridge will be renovated without changing their original appearance.

Due to the planned works, from today, traffic on the Metekhi Bridge will be partially restricted. The patrol police are helping us with all of this, for which I would like to thank them. The works will be performed by the construction company BESKO. The project will cost about 2 million GEL. The works will be completed by the end of the summer”, - said Kakha Kaladze.
