Regulations to get stricter for the damage of the green plants within the administrative borders of Tbilisi

The Human Rights and Civil Integration Committee will discuss the Draft Code of Administrative Offenses aiming at the protection of the green plants within the administrative borders of Tbilisi.

As one of the initiators, Beka Davituliani underlined, despite the current regulations, the plants in the capital often fall under damage or cut-down.

Thus, the increased penalties will serve as one of the crucial mechanisms to ensure the achievement of the key objective of the regulations - protection of the plans and mitigation of the illicit impact thereon. The damage, arbitrary cut-down and/or movement, and violation of the maintenance-restoration rules of the planting shall be subject to the penalty of GEL 5 000 instead of the current GEL 500; and the repeated offense shall be subject to the penalty of GEL 10 000 instead of GEL 1 000.
