Speaker of the Georgian Parliament met with the students in the European University.
Shalva Papuashvili introduced the EU integration steps and stated that our country is not only an accomplice in the European civilization and culture but one of the founders with the goal to regain its place in the common European family. As he noted, it is a historical will and task of the Georgian people. The Speaker overviewed the formal aspects of the EU integration and in this context, underlined the importance of the Association Agreement.
Speaking about the EU membership Application, Shalva Papuashvili put an emphasis on the Russian military aggression in Ukraine, stating that the aggression revealed to the EU a new meaning of its role.
The Speaker dwelt on the Questionnaire, engagement of the Parliament in the fill-up and the further procedures. He also overviewed the agenda and the plans of the Parliament and answered the questions concerning the Euro-Atlantic aspiration of Georgia, Russian aggression in Ukraine and the situation in the region.
