The President of Georgia will address tomorrow the President of the European Commission and the Heads of the EU member states with a personal letter tomorrow.

“I urge Ms. Ursula von der Leyen, who has a decisive role to play in finalizing the commission’s decision, to take into account the will of the Georgian people, whose soldiers stood with German soldiers in Afghanistan, when Ms. Ursula was Minister of Defence.

I ask her to consider that these people deserve that their 30 years of efforts be recognized.

Tomorrow, I will also send a personal letter to the leaders of each of the 27 member states, presenting all the political, moral and strategic arguments as to why Georgia deserves this historic decision and why leaving it beyond the road could be a fatal mistake”, - said Salome Zourabichvili.
