Parliament sittings within the extraordinary session will not be held. The reason is the refusal of the parliamentary majority to participate in the sittings.
“We are not going to participate in the parallel, sabotage process planned by the radical opposition, which has no prospects for the outcome. None of the 81 members of our faction will participate in the extraordinary session”, - said Givi Mikanadze, member of the parliamentary majority.
“The Administration of the President believes that work should be carried out in all formats in order to fulfill the 12 points for the country to receive candidate status of the European Union.
It is a little unclear to us when deputies in the parliamentary republic say that calling an extraordinary session can be a step towards destruction. We believe, on the contrary, that the opposition should work in the working groups that have been created and the majority also should have agreed to open an extraordinary session.
The President acted within the framework of her constitutional powers, after she was addressed by 46 deputies and called an extraordinary session according to Article 44”, - said Giorgi Mskhiladze, the Parliamentary Secretary of President.
