I address the authorities: there are some things that cannot be said, there are some accusations, for example, that the European Union expects a second front from us, which are unacceptable. Such a statement made the President of Georgia at the briefing after meeting with MEPs.
“The greatest responsibility, first of all, in this case, lies with the majority, because the main levers are in the hands of the majority - be it in the Parliament or in the Government.
This process also requires a constructive opposition, which will not oppose everything. However, once again, the main responsibility lies with the Government and the population knows this well. For this, we need to move to work from the mode of wrestling with each other, which we can see not only inside but also outside the country, when, for example, we heard a kind of ping-pong with MEPs.
I also said that sometimes it is better if there are no answers and I called for this dialogue to be transformed into slightly different format. However, I address the authorities: there are some things that cannot be said, there are some accusations, for example, that the EU expects a second front from us, which are unacceptable. Under these conditions, we can’t start any form of dialogue with people who come here to show us in every possible way that they support this very difficult process of ours, which will lead us to the candidate status”, - said Salome Zourabichvili.
