In order to fulfill 12 recommendations, the opposition is starting to work on its own initiatives in parallel with the ruling team

In order to fulfill 12 recommendations, the opposition is starting to work on its own initiatives in parallel with the ruling team. Such a statement made one of the leaders of Strategy Aghmashenebeli, Sergo Chikhladze.

“The working groups, set up by the opposition together with the non-governmental sector, will start working in the Parliament. They will start discussing 3 issues related to justice, electoral system and anti-corruption. We want this process to be inclusive, so we would welcome the involvement of people of relevant competence from the President’s Administration.

The Georgian Dream is not going to discuss key issues. They say that de-oligarchization will not concern [Bidzina] Ivanishvili, constitutional changes will not be discussed and the only problem in the judiciary is the number of judges. The EU recommends that we should work on all 12 issues, while the ruling team says it will not work on 4 major issues. This is not the process that the EU tells us.

If our offers are not shared, we will consider other levers of pressure. One of the methods of pressure has always been and will be peaceful protests of various types”, - said Sergo Chikhladze.
