Mikheil Saakashvili’s political activity has nothing to do with his sentence. Such a statement made today the Chairman of the Parliament.

“It is very good if Mikheil Saakashvili does not intend to be involved in Georgian politics, because every day, when he was involved in our politics, he violated Georgian legislation, since he is not a citizen of Georgia, he is an official representing a foreign country. 

His involvement directly violated the legislation of Georgia. If he is going to stay aside, that is very good. As for his sentence, it has nothing to do with his political activity, his punishment is related to the facts of covering for the murderers of Sandro Girgvliani, ordering the beating of Valeri Gelashvili. 

There are other cases as well. They have nothing to do with his involvement in politics”, - said Shalva Papuashvili.
