Ambrolauri is getting ready to the local food and drink festival Gemo Fest between Friday and Saturday.

According to the Georgian National Tourism Administration, they have invited visitors to the first edition to “discover new tastes of traditional Racha, Lechkhumi and Svaneti dishes” and wine, in reference to the regions it will celebrate. Guests have also been promised an exhibition and sale, music and other entertainment in Ambrolauri Central Park.

The goal of the festival project, implemented with the support of the German International Development Agency, is to promote local cuisine and develop agricultural tourism in the region.
