The foreign direct investments in Georgia amounted to USD 351.8 million

The foreign direct investments (FDI) in Georgia amounted to USD 351.8 million in Q2 2022 (preliminary data), up 9.1% from the adjusted data of Q2 2021.

Equity up 2.3 times in Q2 2022 from the previous year and amounted to USD 90.2 million and the share of reinvestment is 68.3% of total FDI.

The United Kingdom reaching USD 64.7 million in Q2 2022 (18.4%) was the major foreign direct investor country, the Netherlands was the second with USD 44.8 million (12.7%) followed by Japan with USD 41.8 (11.9%).

The largest share of FDI was registered in the energy sector, reaching USD 76.6 million (21.8%) in Q2 2022, the real estate sector was the second with USD 75.6 million (21.5%), followed by the financial sector with USD 47.6 million (13.5%).
