Prime Minister of Georgia met with the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to the Republic of Armenia.

Irakli Garibashvili congratulated Giorgi Sharvashidze on his new position and wished him success in his future work.

As it was underlined, Georgia and Armenia are connected by close friendly and good neighborly relations. The hope was expressed for active cooperation in various fields in the future.

Giorgi Sharvashidze has worked in different positions in the Ministry of Education and Science. He has also been engaged in scientific and educational activities. In 2016-2022, Sharvashidze was the rector of Tbilisi State University. From 2004 to 2013 he worked at the Open Society Institute in Budapest.

Giorgi Sharvashidze is a Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, author of monographs and scientific articles, awarded with the Order of Excellence.
